BOONE — “The Wild Robot” is an artificial intelligence, computer animation adventure, survival, science-fiction film with three Oscar nominations, according to the Interet Movie Database (Imdb). The PG-rated film is playing for free at Appalachian Theatre of the High Country (559 W King St.) on Saturday, March 8 starting at 11 a.m.

“After a shipwreck, an intelligent robot called Roz is stranded on an uninhabited island,” according to the description on Imdb’s website; “to survive the harsh environment, Roz bonds with the island's animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose.”
